Soils and Plant Growth: Introduction, measurement Growth, phases of Growth, endogenous Growth regulators, lateral Growth in a plant, physiological effects of ethylene, Growth responses to exogenous factors, seed germination and dormancy, vernalization.

Plant Propagation: Types propagation: sexual propagation, asexual propagation,  root cutting & tubers, leaf cutting, runners & offsets, rooting stemp cutting, rooting media, rooting hormone, stock plant, care of rooted, propagation bar hardwood cutting.

Entomology for Gardeners: Basic of classification, insect from and structure- morphology, insect development- metamorphosis, types of insect injury, insects as disseminators of plant diseases, benefits and value of insects, pesticides.
